There has been a huge amount of excellent shows that really give you sense of the subject matter. In no particular order here are some shows worth checking out.
The most engaging and first ones to watch in my view are those made by Kings & Generals - Mesopotamia. Very much focused on the military aspects of the Mesopotamian culture, they are an excellent 'getting in the mood' primer ore refresher.
